Day 4 Celebrations of Dussehra at AIMS on 25th Sep, 2025.

On the fourth day, Devi is worshipped in the form of Kushmanda, known as the creator of the universe. We pray her for the creation of light, life, and energy, seeking relief from negativity.

As part of the celebrations, an inter-class cultural competition in Rangoli and sports competition in Badminton Finals and Desi Games were organized.

The campus was filled with colours, creativity, and excitement. The Rangoli Competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, reflected the culture, tradition and festivity. Adding to the festive spirit, the Desi Games brought back the joy of traditional Indian sports and activities. Students actively participated in games such as sack race, frog jump, lemon and spoon race, musical chairs, which created an atmosphere of fun and energy.

On the third day, Devi is worshipped in the form of Chandraghanta, who represents courage, serenity, and bravery.

As part of the celebrations, an inter-class cultural competition in Cooking Without Fire and sports competition in Volleyball and Badminton were organized.

Participants enthusiastically prepared a wide range of nutritious and artistic dishes.

The competition added flavour to the celebrations while showcasing students’ cookery talents.

Day 2 Celebrations of Dussehra at AIMS on 23rd Sep, 2025.

On the second day, Devi is worshipped in the form of Brahmacharini, the goddess symbolising penance and unwavering devotion.

On Day 2, the department has organised inter-class competitions in Bottle Painting, Face Painting, Nail Art and Hair styling.

In addition to the cultural activities, inter – class sports competitions in Kabaddi were conducted. The Referee for the Kabaddi was our Alumnus, of B.Com 2016 batch, Mr. Aleem Pasha. He is a State & National Level Kabaddi Player.

Enthusiastic participation and sportive spirit among students is witnessed in all the events.

Dussehra Celebrations at AIMS

Dussehra Navratri, commemorates the triumph of good over evil and symbolizes justice over evil.

During the nine days of Navratri, Devi is worshipped in three dimensions of Shakti – Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati. On the first day Devi is worshipped in the form of Shailaputri, daughter of Mountain King Himavath.

As part of Dussehra celebrations the department has organised inter-class competitions in Pencil Sketching and Mehandi on Monday, 22nd Sep, 2025 to encourage talents and also as part of academic requirements. Students have enthusiastically participated in the events.

Seminar on “Microsoft Advanced Excel – Skills for Career Development”

Seminar on “Microsoft Advanced Excel – Skills for Career Development” was organised by the IQAC and IIC of AIMS for UG students on 18th Sep, 2025.

Highlights:

  1. The resource persons provided valuable insights on advanced features of Excel that are widely used in data management, analysis, and visualization.
  2. The resource person emphasized on practical applications of Excel in solving business problems.
  3. Students were actively engaged through hands-on activities during the session.

The seminar provided valuable insights into the advanced features of Excel and their application in real-world scenarios. The session guided students on essential skills, career paths, and the importance of Excel and ERP knowledge.

Study Visit to Sir M. Vishveshvaraiah Museum, Muddenahalli – Chikkaballapur

The Department of Kannada organized a study visit to the Sir M. Vishveshvaraiah Museum, Muddenahalli, on the occasion of the 164th birth anniversary of Sir M. Vishveshvaraiah.

Students from 2nd year B.Com, BBA, Aviation, and BCA (Kannada) actively participated in the visit. The study tour provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the life, contributions, and enduring legacy of Sir M. Vishveshvaraiah — one of India’s most celebrated engineers and visionaries.

Nestled in the serene hills of Muddenahalli, the museum offers an inspiring journey through history, showcasing the remarkable achievements, innovations, and contributions of Sir M. Vishveshvaraiah to the nation.

The visit was both educational and motivating, encouraging students to appreciate the importance of innovation, discipline, and dedication in shaping society.

IBM Emerging Technology Program

Highlights:
*Mr. Raghu Prasad delivered an insightful session focused on the importance of certification programs in India and how they play a crucial role in shaping students’ careers.

He emphasized that certifications add significant value to a graduate’s profile, helping them stand out in a competitive job market.

He discussed various emerging technology domains such as:
● Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)
● Cybersecurity
● Blockchain and
● Other trending technological fields

The speaker highlighted the need for students to be technically literate and acquire practical expertise in order to meet industry demands. He also addressed the challenges faced by
young professionals while seeking employment, including the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations.

The seminar was highly interactive and engaging, with students actively participating and asking questions. Mr. Raghu Prasad provided valuable insights and motivated students to enroll in certification programs to enhance their skills before graduation.

Student’s Personal Counselling Cell

The IQAC and Student’s Personal Counselling Cell of AIMSR, organized a workshop on the topic “Mindfulness and Emotional Wellness” to promote mental health awareness among students on 9th Sep, 2025.

The session began with an introduction to mindfulness, defined as being present and aware without judgment, and emotional wellness, which focuses on caring for emotional health, managing stress, and nurturing inner well-being.

The resource person, Mrs. Pavithra Shetty, Counsellor and psychotherapist highlighted the benefits of mindfulness, such as reducing anxiety, improving concentration, and enhancing emotional balance. Practical techniques like meditation, mindful eating, deep breathing, and body scan meditation were demonstrated. The session also addressed common challenges faced by students, including indecision, procrastination, time management, and identity-related concerns.

A key part of the workshop was the discussion on Emotional Quotient (EQ), explained through its five pillars: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. Students were encouraged to strengthen their EQ through reflective practices like journaling, pausing before reacting, active listening, and seeking feedback.

In conclusion, the workshop provided valuable insights into cultivating mindfulness and emotional wellness, equipping students with practical tools to manage stress, improve relationships, and lead a balanced and strong life.

Objectives
The session provided an in-depth understanding of the coordinated activities on an airport ramp, including aircraft marshaling, baggage and cargo handling, fueling, catering, waste management, pushback, towing, and passenger boarding/disembarking. Mr. Basha emphasized the role of skilled personnel and specialized equipment in ensuring efficient and safe aircraft turnaround. The session was highly interactive, and students actively participated, gaining valuable insights into airport operations and future career prospects.
