Awareness and Prevention of Sexual Harassment

QAC and Women Grievance & Sexual Harassment Cell of AIMS, conducted a Seminar on “Awareness and Prevention of Sexual Harassment” on 17th April, 2025 for UG and MBA First Year Students.

Resource Person: Mrs. Suja Sukumaran, Liaison Officer- Enfold Trust, Worked for UNICEF Projects, Women and Child Department. imparts Awareness Training for POSH, POCSO, Child Rights and Life skills. She has worked as a Court appointed Volunteer in an Organisation called Voices for Children, California for Juveniles for conflicts with law in San Diego, California and also worked as Media Correspondent in the US.

Highlights:
The Session was conducted with the primary aim of educating the students about the nature, consequences and preventive measures related to sexual harassment in various settings, particularly at the workplace, Educational Institutions and Social daily life. The session emphasized on the importance of creating a safe and respectful environment and also provided valuable insights into the definition and types of Sexual Harassment, citing real life cases and legal frameworks.

Students were able to get insights on the various Laws Prevailing to Sexual Harassment and gained knowledge on what constitutes Sexual Harassment and its various forms. Students also became familiar with the laws and policies such as POSH and POCSO Act.

Protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and IP Management for Startups

Workshop on “Protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and IP Management for Startups” was organized by the IQAC, Institution’s Innovation Council and Entrepreneurship Cell for MBA students.

Guest Speaker: Dr. Harish Kumar P, Practicing Advocate, Principal, Aditya College of Law.

Highlights of the Session::

  1. The resource person elaborated on the legal framework governing IPRs in India, covering essential laws such as the Patents Act, 1970; Trademarks Act, 1999; Copyright Act, 1957; Design Act, 2000; The Geographical Indications Act, 1999; The Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout- Design Act, 2000 and other relevant legislation and provided insights into various aspects of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
  2. Attendees also gained practical knowledge of patent filing procedures and trademark registration, crucial for startups looking to establish their brand identity. The session included discussions on real-life case studies with special focus on implications to startups that highlighted the importance of securing intellectual property and the consequences of violation of law.
  3. The resource person emphasized the role of intellectual property in fostering innovation and economic growth, urging participants to integrate IP management into their business strategies.

The workshop successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of IPRs and their significance in safeguarding business innovations. The interactive session allowed attendees to clarify doubts and explore legal strategies for intellectual property management.

An industrial visit to KOMUL Kolar Diary Industry
Kolar- Chikkaballapura District.

Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd., (KOMUL) is Karnataka’s Milk Producing District organisation. It is a District level apex body of milk cooperatives in Karnataka, which aims to provide remunerative returns to the farmers by eliminating the middlemen and also serve the interest of consumers by providing quality Milk & milk products, which are good value for money.

The trip was organized for the degree students of Bcom, BBA and BBA Aviation of 4th Semester (2nd year) to explore different sectors in which students are passionate about it. Manufacturing services, marketing sector, financial sector, sales division, the visit helps the students to add theoretical knowledge with practical exposure.

The session began with the introduction about the KOMUL company followed by the visit to different processing units.

Startup Planning: Legal, Ethical and Financial Strategies for Entrepreneurs

Workshop on “Startup Planning: Legal, Ethical and Financial Strategies for Entrepreneurs”, in Association with “MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Government of India”, organized by IQAC, Institution’s Innovation Council & Entrepreneurship Cell of AIMS on 17th March 2025 for final year UG & MBA students.

Guest Speaker:Mr. Gopinath Rao, Ex. Deputy Director, MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Government of India.

Highlights:
1) The resource person emphasised the role of Central and State governments in Startup Ecosystem through various statistics.
2) He has provided valuable insights on various fund-raising strategies for Startups such as Bootstrapping, Government grants, Angel investors, Venture capital, Crowd funding etc.
3) Discussed on various Central Government funding schemes like, Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS), Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups (CGSS), Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), Stand-Up India Scheme, MUDRA, SIDBI Venture Capital Funds & Support and and Karnataka State Government schemes like, Elevate 100 Program (Funding & Mentorship for startups), Idea2PoC (Proof of Concept) Grant, New Age Incubation Network (NAIN), AVGC (Animation, VFX, Gaming) Startup Support and GoK’s Innovation and Technology Incubation Centers.
4) Also shed light on legal and ethical aspects of startups such as the process for startup registration, compliance and regulatory framework, contracts & agreements, governance, ethical considerations with respect to decision making and social responsibility to build the trust of stakeholders.
5) The Q & A session clarified the queries of the students in legal and financial aspects.

The workshop laid foundation on legal and ethical aspects to be considered for establishment of a startup and various fund raising strategies, especially Central and Karnataka State Government financial assistance for Startups. It has also provided valuable inputs on mentorship and incubation support from the government.

InCanto Robotics Lab Study Visit

Study Visit
The Training & Placement Cell organised a study visit for BCA students to InCanto Dynamics, a Robotic Lab on 20th February 2025, with an objective of providing an
experience of Robotics, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence.

The Expert Technical Trainers at the Lab made a powerful presentation touching upon various segments.

  1. Information on Technical Knowledge

Explained through presentation, the fundamentals of robotics, including mechanics, electronics, and programming.
Exposure to robotic components like sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and AI integration.
Importance of learning about robotic operating systems (ROS) and programming languages (Python, C++, etc.).

2 Problem-Solving and Innovation
Explained how exposure to real-world robotics applications in industries like healthcare, manufacturing, and space exploration will enhance operations.

Students were advised to design and conceptualize their own robotic solutions and to work on small projects.

  1. Teamwork and Collaboration
    Suggested to work in groups to build or control robots.

Highlighted how different disciplines (mechanical, electrical, and software engineering) are integrated together in robotics.

  1. Career & Research Awareness

Students got an insight about career opportunities in robotics, AI, and automation including Research
prospects in robotics and its future impact.

Provided insights into entrepreneurship and startup opportunities in robotics.

Overall, it was a great learning experience for the students and faculty with a lot of real-time insights and exposure to state of the art technology.

Highlights:
1) The resource person highlighted the need for financial literacy and advised students to start with financial planning.
2) They engaged students with hands-on experience in stock trading and investment planning through interactive session and activities.
3) The session bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implications in the stock market investments. Expert’s addressed student’s queries on financial planning, investments, and thriving career opportunities in capital markets.

The session concluded with a strong message about the transformative power of investment and encouraged the students to view investment as a tool for creating opportunities and securing their future. The session was highly impactful, leaving students motivated and equipped with foundational knowledge to make informed financial decisions and navigate the complexity of job market and make informed career decisions.

Seminar on AI Revolution in Data Analytics and Digital Marketing organized by IQAC & Institution’s Innovation Council of AIMS on 20th January 2025 for MBA students.

Objectives of the Session:
1) To understand the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in transforming Data Analytics and Digital Marketing.
2) To explore the applications of AI in modern business practices.
3) To understand how AI enhances digital marketing through data-driven insights.

Resource Person: Mr. Srinivas Prabhu, Co-founder and Director of INCANTO Dynamics Pvt Ltd & Mr. Mahidhara, Head of Analytics Department at Digital Maven.

Session Highlights:
1) The resource person provided insights on the transformative impact of AI in business operations. Also emphasized on the use of AI-powered tools for campaign optimization and customer engagement.
2) The expert discussed and shed light on various cutting-edge AI applications in Data Analytics and Digital Marketing, gained a deeper understanding of AI applications in business.
3) The interactive session provided clarity on emerging roles and skill sets required to build a career in AI-powered analytics and marketing.

Outcome: The seminar successfully educated students with a deeper understanding of how AI is transforming the business practices. Future of AI & ML in Industry

Seminar on “Future of AI & ML in Industry”, was organized by the IQAC and Institution’s Innovation Council of AIMS through virtual mode on 30th December 2024.

Resource Person: Mr. Mihir Patnaik from Vantharr Technologies.

Participant Details: IIC Members and BCA students.

Insights of the Session:

  1. The resource person shared his expertise on AI and ML, exploring their transformative potential in education.
  2. Provided insights on AI concepts and how AI can personalize learning, automate administrative tasks, and enhance educational outcomes.
  3. Highlighted the future of intelligent tutoring systems and real-time analytics for student progress in academics & in their professional progress in industry in future.
  4. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session where Mr. Patnaik addressed queries related to AI’s implementation and its ethical considerations.

Outcome:
The seminar was insightful, offering valuable perspectives on the future of AI and ML. It encouraged participants to embrace these technologies as essential tools for both educators and students in the evolving educational landscape & industry.

GRADUATION CEREMONY 2024

Aditya Institute of Management Studies & Research conducted “GRADUATION CEREMONY 2024 on Friday, 13th December 2024 at the campus Indoor stadium. The occasion was graced by Chief Guest, Dr. Jacob Crasta, Founder Chairman of CM Envirosystems Pvt Ltd (CME) and Chairman of Lsquare Eco- Products Pvt Ltd, Guest of Honour, Dr. S. Ramesh , Dean, International Programmes & Partnerships, Mount Carmel College.
Principal & Director, Dr. Pushpa Shetty welcomed the gathering.

The Chief Guest Dr. Jacob Crasta and Guest of Honour Dr. S. Ramesh conferred the Degrees to the graduating students of UG (B.com, BBA, BBAM & BCA) 2021-24 Batch & MBA 2022-24 Batch. Academic Toppers & University Toppers were awarded with Certificates and awards. The Ceremony was followed by cultural activities by the students.

Addressing the graduating student’s, the Chief Guest Dr. Jacob Crasta advised to identify their passion and work systematically towards the passion and shared his experiences as an entrepreneur. He has emphasised on the bright future in the current digital era & the vision of Viksit Bharath 2047. He advised the students to be prepared for the challenges of the real world.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. S. Ramesh emphasised on three essential elements, smart thinking, presence of mind and common sense to succeed in the smart world.
